After applying online, I received an email inviting me to the first phone interview. I was given the option of choosing from 3 available times/dates.
The first phone interview was with the hiring manager & one other person on the team. It took approximately 1 hour & was very relaxed. Although questions about specifics were asked, ie. past accomplishments, work style, etc., the interview panel seemed very personable and interested. At the end of the interview, I was told what the next step would be, ie. when I would be notified if I qualified for a 2nd interview, and when the anticipated start date would be.
By the end of the week I was advised of a 2nd interview, also to be done over the phone & the interview panel consisted of hiring manager & their direct manager. Some of the questions were the same as the initial interview, but the senior manager wanted to get a feel for my personality, etc.
This company seems to be focused on "fit" and how anyone they hire will fit in with the existing team. That is great in theory, but it is sometimes hard to determine simply over the interview process.
I did make it to 3rd round of interviews - the face to face. This was a more relaxed meeting with everyone on the team as an effort to determine fit.
In the end, I did not get offered the position because I was missing an element they felt would ease the learning curve (no it had nothing to do with fit). They did contact me by phone to advise me and gave me great feedback about my strengths, the impression I made on them, and gave me suggestions how I can build up my experience in that missing element.
Overall, I was really impressed with this company & how they value their existing employees. They care enough to make existing teams part of the hiring process.
