Got an email and set up interview call. Spoke for 2 mins with the person's assistant and they asked if I was an international student then immediately told me they can't give me the position when I said yes. Didn't even get to the interview and the whole process was a waste of time.

You do an introductory call, then an in-person meeting, and finally a business plan presentation. This take place over a couple weeks and as long as you are confident and somewhat professional and are up for what the role requires, you will get through the interview process.
