Overall: the interviewer represented a poor image of the organization and its operations. I applied for the *Director* position in January 2021. In February, I received an email from HR thanking me for applying and interviewing (which I did not do) for the *Temporary Counselor* position (a separate opening which I did not apply for). In March, the director of HR contacted me to set up a phone interview for the Director position. The director of HR did not know basic information about the position when I asked pertinent questions: e.g. How many students are typically enrolled in 8th Grade (for high school prep)? Is there a list of the high schools where Equitas Academy students enroll after they finish 8th Grade? The director of HR seemed as if they were going through the motions in asking standard job interview questions - not linking my responses to their questions or to the job description itself. When our phone connections got cut off, it took about 5 minutes for us to get back online, and when I finally called them back, the HR director said, "Do you still want to continue with the interview?" I chose to continue with the phone interview so that I could gain enough information to make the following decision: this isn't an organization to which I would want to apply for a job in the near future.
