I applied to Software Development Engineer III role via LInkedin. I was later contacted by Expedia internal recruiter and was invited to the initial zoom call. The interviewer did not show up and emailed me saying that they had emergency so the interview was rescheduled. This time the interviewer did not show up again and I emailed them to confirm whether they still able to join and was told that they were off sick, the interview was rescheduled again. The third time the interviewer did not show again, I emailed them and waited for them for 15mins. After that I just emailed them again stating that I waited for them and they did not show up and I concluded that the role was not open anymore. I did not get any reply. This behaviour is unprofessional and frankly quite pathetic sorry.

Bizarre and Frustrating After a successful initial screen, the recruiter informed me the team wanted to move forward and scheduled a 45-minute Zoom interview with the Hiring Manager. I spent time preparing using the extensive guide the recruiter provided. However, at the very beginning of the call, the Hiring Manager explicitly told me that I was not eligible for the position. Despite this, they decided to keep me on the call just to "get to know me." To make matters worse, the Hiring Manager took the time to boastfully mention that they had many applicants from "Apple, Google, and other big companies," which felt incredibly condescending and completely unnecessary. It is incredibly frustrating to invest time preparing for a role that you have already been disqualified for behind the scenes.
