Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 4 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela Expedite Commerce em jan. de 2025
Entrevista
One of the odd interview experiences.
First round - HR discussion. Resume focused and behavioral questions. Passed.
Second round - capture your video and respond to a bunch of technical and architecture level questions. Thought I bombed a couple questions. Passed.
Third round - Build a POC. They define a broad scope for a project and expect you to complete it in three days. Passed.
Fourth round - technical round. Guy asks cloud specific questions, and he will not let you set the context or explain concepts if you're unaware of the technical jargon he uses. He wants you to answer his extremely rigid, specific questions in a direct manner. Honestly, the stupidest interview I've had in a long time. I wanted to leave 10 minutes in but stayed out of courtesy.
Thoughts:
- As someone who has conducted interviews for multiple teams, it's obvious that their wording for the project is poor and they should narrow down the scope to an actual POC.
- For the first time in my career, I sent a rejection email to a company. I can't imagine being on the team if the interview process is so draining.
- The recruiter was actually quite helpful and considerate
- A skilled backend engineer w/ AWS knowledge can get past round four. So, the role is actually more of an "AWS Backend Engineer." Nothing on "full stack" was tested in their technical round - zero questions on frontend, zero questions on backend, and nothing on DB. I applied for the AWS + Full Stack opportunity, but it's clearly a miscommunication.

Pergunta 1
Focus on AWS. Majority of the questions come from it.
- The POC is essentially to build a fully-fledged CRUD based system using AWS CDK, run it through CodePipeline, deploy the artifact, update your Lambda & DB (if required)
- AWS specific questions. The POC will require extensive AWS knowledge. The technical round will double down on it.
