I interviewed with EyeMD EMR / Optivate and initially had what felt like a genuinely strong experience. Before any interview was scheduled, I completed an assessment that took approximately 30–45 minutes. After that, I was invited to speak with a HR Manager for an interview scheduled for 30 minutes, which ultimately lasted over 90 minutes.
The conversation itself was thoughtful and wide-ranging. We discussed customer success strategy, renewals, data, organizational design, and how the business is thinking about growth. It felt mutual and promising enough that I invested additional time afterward researching the company, the broader EHR landscape, and the private equity firm that recently invested in the business, including their portfolio and related companies. I also spent time researching housing options in the Bonita Springs area to assess relocation feasibility.
Unfortunately, after that interview, communication stopped entirely. I followed up multiple times over the following weeks and never received a response - not a rejection, not a status update, nothing.
I understand that hiring priorities can shift and that internal timelines change, but ghosting after a completed assessment and a deep, extended interview reflects poorly on the candidate experience. A brief update or closure message would have gone a long way, especially given the level of time and preparation required on both sides.
The company appears to be working on interesting problems in healthcare, but the lack of follow-through after a high-investment interview left a disappointing impression of the hiring process.
