Candidatei-me por meio de recrutador(a). O processo levou 3 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela FIDUS SYSTEMS (Ottawa, ON) em out. de 2024
Entrevista
It was an HR screen first, which was the recruiter giving information about the company. They did not ask many questions. After that was a half hour manager interview. Then a technical interview with 2 developers.

During the interview, the people were very friendly and easy to talk to. It was a very low stress environment. I did the the interview over zoom as it was remote.

Entrevista
Initial screen with a recruiter - 1 hr
Hiring manager interview. - 1 hr
Take home - 30 - 60 min
Technical interview - 1 hr
Offer interview - 30 min
The recruiter seemed very reasonable and transparent. Pushed on the salary range and specifics.
Technical manager were skilled, kind and the engineers who interviewed me asked me practical questions. I actually spent most of the end of the technical round cracking jokes about a terrible bug I found in a customer system and discussinf experiences after questions. One of the smoothest and well done technical rounds I've experienced
Things went awry and the offer when I got to the interview with the VP. He seemed very professional and receptive about my questions and interview feedback He then mentioned the offer was lower than I would expect, after much deliberation between the department. The salary was nearly 20% lower than the lowest range thatw as discussed. I then asked about timelines as I had other interviews in my pipeline.
I got the offer letter a few hours later but to my suprise it had a deadline of less than 48 hours to sign. I pushed back with the recruiter to get a week extension so I could discuss with my partner. I asked a few more questions as to my concerns about the significant salary drop alongside if there was an issue with my interview performance. It seemed like there was an internal concern/politics about bringing me in at the initial rate discussed. I was told there's no room for the base salary to move.
I eventually rejected the offer when my time wasn't respected (again) and talk of other candidates was mentioned to get me to hasten my decision.
The technical team does seem great to work with but sadly, the exploding offer given completely put me off this role.
