The conversation was as follows:
Interviewer: How well do you know technology Y
Me: I've worked on it just briefly but not much
Interviewer: Then I'll definitely ask you more questions on that technology
Me: Is that required for this position i'm being interviewed for?
Interviewer: Not much, but i will still ask you questions since you said you dont know!
The initial HR -recruitment team screen and the first round telephonic interview with the team manager was good and professional. That wasn't the case with the next round, a technical interview. The most incompetent interview panel that I have ever seen. I have attended interviews or conducted interviews myself. The purpose of the interview must be to analyse what the candidate knows relating to the available position. But here, the interviewer, to show his superiority maybe, was asking me questions about a technology that I clearly mentioned that I do have much expertise on. The conversation was as follows:
Interviewer: How well do you know technology Y
Me: I've worked on it just briefly but not much
Interviewer: Then I'll definitely ask you more questions on that technology
Me: Is that required for this position i'm being interviewed for?
Interviewer: Not much, but i will still ask you questions since you said you dont know!
That exact moment I decided I'm not joining FujiXerox and working alongside such ineffectual people!
