First was a telephone interview with an HR person.
Second was a Person to Person via online video and a coding test.
I really have to wonder if the engineers know what they are doing. I was asked to create a simple form which was given to me as a screen shot of one on their website. I rapidly started coding the layout with the intent of going back and fine tuning it. After about 10 minutes, the interviewer stopped me and said, "Ok, you can stop there. That's good." I asked, "Do you want me to add some Javascript?" "No, that's good enough.", he replied. He went on to other questions and we signed off shortly after.
Now... I have been in web development for ten years and have NEVER been told that my coding is horrible, so, imagine the shock that I had when receiving an email from this company that I do not have the skills needed for this company. I found the email totally insulting. Not only that, later I had found the same form on their website and their form elements were not ADA compliant at all. More than likely they don't even know the newer international laws to make sales in Canada!
Overall, the interview was easy. But once again, I have found that Front End interviewers think that unless you do things exactly like they do it, you don't know what you're doing.
