Great team and diligent in interviewing for a good fit! The process was diligent and the respectful every single step of the way. I think overall it was still wonderful to get to know the team and the business.

Started with a phone interview discussing previous experience and projects, which led to a take-home project. Was asked to submit within 3 days, and to spend at least a couple hours on it. Project was to replicate a UI from a gif they provided, along with sharing the needed assets. Wasn't selected for the position, but they did get back fast. Feel more constructive criticism on where I could have done better may have been nice but overall no complaints.

A couple of basic phone interviews followed by a two day trial. The two day trial consisted of a coding challenge and a couple of meetings to get to know the team. The team was laid back and seemed like they really wanted to get to know me. The interview process was great and it seemed like a great all around company. All that changed when the code review at the end of the last day began. It was conducted by 3 engineers of which 2 were very polite and asked thoughtful questions throughout. So it was shocking then when the 3rd engineer was so rude. The project was a fairly straightforward feature that they asked to be built in a specific architecture. When the engineer saw that a static header wasn’t in the right place (according to him) he began lambasting the code. After that he just asked to open various files and made one snarky comment after the other such as “no view model for this huh”. It was so belittling that I was just hoping for the review to end at that point. Sadly it did not that was only the halfway point. I left the interview knowing I wasn’t getting an offer but also wondering even if by some small chance I did how could I possibly accept it after how incredibly rude that one engineer was.
