The HR Specialist in first meeting gives you a phone call. The one who interviewed was very nice and informed ahead of time the video call interview via MS outlook.
However, it was clearing up the employee’s price that becme awkward. They shared it would be competitive salary and then changed it to a laborious overtime internship with questionable pay in the job description.
Ongoing talks with the client went well. But it always went back to negotiation with HR that became unclear. It’d be a week still not unanswered.
When I directed the client my HR questions, they became mad and prefer, I should have never talked to the client. That broke my trust, as I noticed they were recording if I was trying to defame them.
To highlight, they are not doing anything illegal. But it’s circumstances that if signed it would be. I felt always labelling the job and me as intern was disrespectful as they highlighted it more as a volunteer, when it became clear it was a full-time non-paid work. And even if it was, it’s quite rude to treat me and the client with unclear negotiations to the fee or job terms.
Also I wish HR took notes of my questions previously. It would be nice to have a face during video calls. Sometimes it’d be only me, the client or head that would be in video call, so I wasn’t sure if my opinion with the other HR specialists was given attention to.
