I was first contacted 3 days within applying by the HR recruiter for a screening. They asked typical questions about work history and how to deal with conflict, etc. These questions were non-specific to the role. After the screening, they conducted a soft pull on my credit and I was contacted by the hiring manager to set up an interview with her. I was out of state, so this was conducted over the phone. I had what I felt was a good conversation with the hiring manager for over an hour about the industry, mutual people we knew within the business and work styles. At the conclusion of the interview, the manager said she would like to fly me out for an in person interview for the final step. She asked how much notice I would require and I said one week. We ended the call on a good note and the manager assured me we'd be in contact soon. I did not hear anything for a week, so I sent a follow up email, to which I received no response. After two weeks and no communication, I figured they moved on to someone else. 54 days later, I received a generic rejection email.
