The first interview was a really laid back call with the hiring manager Alex just to get to know each other. He was great to interview with and was someone I knew I wanted to work for after that first call. Next was a meeting with another manager Mike who has been there for a few months but was already really knowledgeable on the industry and what to expect. He was also really laid back and made you feel comfortable and took away the nervousness usually associated with interviews.
Next up was a mock sales presentation on their product. Usually I am not a fan of these since it is a little awkward to present on a product you don't know but both Alex and Mike shared that same thought with me before hand so it took a lot of the pressure off knowing it didn't have to be perfectg.
Finally you spoke with the CEO, Manger of Operations, and Head of People for 30 minutes each all of whom were fantastic to speak with.
Overall this was really the best and most comfortable I have felt during an interview process in my life.

Create a marketing plan for your territory- inappropriate and basically trying to get you to do some free work. It is apparent they are struggling and need new ideas. I realized after my interview, my recruiter who was assisting me was no longer there.

I was personally contacted by a Flock recruiter on LinkedIn without ever applying or connecting with anyone at the company. She personally stalked my work history/page, saw that I was with a top Fortune ranked tech company in computer manufacturing and asked if she can speak to me as she thought I was a fit for the School Safety Territory Sales Manager, a senior sales position. I agreed and thought it would be a fantastic opportunity as I am open and searching, plus the fact that they sought me out was a real plus. We had a super generic, low energy call in which the tone was set by her, where she seemed to show a low level of interest given she was the one to initiate this meeting. I tried to connect the dots of how my experience and skillset aligned with the role after reviewing the job post the day prior, and after doing a fair bit of research on the products/services they offer. I made multiple links and showed genuine interest in moving forward, and she ended the call with "I will pass these notes on to the hiring manager and see if THEY want to move forward given the notes I took" Anyways, a few days go by and she never reaches out, so I send her a follow up asking if there was any movement on going forward and she responded almost immediately saying "THEY decided to move in another direction". I don't know who "THEY" are but it turned out to be a total waste of time that Flock themselves initiated with someone who never even applied to begin with. I am certain there are people who have both applied formally and followed their processes, and responded to these "DM's" and are more than qualified, but they are looking for that non-existent perfection from the sound of it. Good luck to those that go with this luke warm practice.
