This interview seemed to be another in a trend of county or state kinds of employers asking few questions: brief two pre-interview written questions followed by four oral questions. There were two interviewers. The interview got off to a late start. The office looked hectic and the employees seemed overworked. (But then, this seems to be the situation at many employers these days.) I asked more questions than the interviewers. One question I asked: What is the difference between a good Information Technician and a great one? The answer I received seemed to reflect the chaos of the office: "Standards and expectations. One who meets his standards and expectations." It's reasonable to assume that a great employee does more than "meet standards and expectations," which seems to indicate that just keeping one's head above water is deemed "great" work. At the time, they needed to hire six people. My overall impression was that the office was overwhelmed. But in all fairness, the two interviewers had both worked there for more than 20 years, and they genuinely seemed to love their jobs.
