The interview process at Forbes Tate Partners was one of the more thorough that I have experienced. From the day of the first interview to accepting the offer over two months had passed. That being said, the culture Forbes Tate has fostered really comes through in the interview process, and its clear the careful deliberation they invest into employee selection has paid off. The nuts and bolts of the interview process were pretty straightforward: the first in-person interview at their DC office was split into two 30 minute interviews with two senior vice presidents each. They don’t generally ask the standard behavioral questions, but will has about experiences and how your resume leads to Forbes Tate. Then came a writing test which needed to be completed in 24 hours. It tests research, writing, and strategic thinking and could be a challenge for someone who has never done formal work in strategic communications before. The last round of interviews consisted of a meeting with the Director of Operations, who as you can imagine asked more specific questions about job fit and some behavioral questions. After that I spoke with two partners who had their own agenda, wondering how I approached teamwork, whether I had social media fluency, etc. After the last round of interviews it was radio silence for almost three weeks before I got a call and the job offer was made.
