I had a really pleasant interview experience starting off with Fabi (the recruiter), followed by conversations with two VPs. They were all very personable and genuinely interested in learning about my experience and how I would fit within their company. Each discussion felt thoughtful and conversational, which made it easy to share openly. After several interviews with other companies, this stood out as one of the better processes I’ve been part of — organized, genuine, and overall a positive experience.

Forethought AI is a startup in the AI/ML space claiming to have a more mature product than recent market entrants. Currently in growth phase. Role Details Individual contributor Solution Engineer position Heavy POC workload (40+ per quarter, 6-8 concurrent POCs per engineer) Average deal size $90-100K, enterprise deals $300-400K Unusual requirement for Python coding skills for a pre-sales role Concerning Aspects Manager described job as "quite stressful" with tight deadlines. Below-market compensation. Poor work-life balance with 9pm calls and weekend work. Interviewer's attitude shifted negatively when the relevance of coding tests for a sales engineering position was questioned. Culture appears to prioritize unrealistic deadlines over sustainable work practices. Company Culture Described as "fast-paced" with frequent urgent requests and pressure to deliver features within 24 hours to close deals. The interview experience revealed a disconnect between stated values and actual expectations of technical staff. After the interview, the company completely ghosted me. Despite multiple follow-up emails over two weeks requesting an update on my application status, I received no response whatsoever. This lack of professional courtesy reflects poorly on their organizational culture and respect for candidates' time. Such disregard for basic communication suggests the concerning workplace dynamics observed during the interview extend to all aspects of their operations.
