The interview process was disorganized and concerning. The hiring manager clearly lacked understanding of the position, the core responsibilities, or what the previous person in the role actually did. Throughout the conversation, they repeatedly mentioned “a lot of change” but failed to communicate anything substantive about the role, team, or expectations. There was little to no curiosity about my background or experience, and the overall tone was unprofessional and disengaged.
It seems the company is still struggling to find its footing post-restructure or following recent acquisitions/divestitures, which may be contributing to internal confusion and inefficiencies. Based on this experience, I would question whether the organization is truly ready to bring in and support new talent. The marketing team said they are "still learning" what to do and that all they can tell me is that "we need help."
