      Entrevista para Sales Manager

      21 de jul. de 2023
      Candidato(a) sigiloso(a) à entrevista
      Austin, TX
      Nenhuma oferta
      Experiência negativa
      Entrevista difícil

      Candidatura

Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 4 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela Fullstack Labs (Austin, TX) em jun. de 2023

      Entrevista

Initial discussion was very pleasant. She was in Columbia, South America (which struck me as very odd to have the initial face of an organization speak partially broken English), but she was good at her job and made me feel welcomed. She was also very good at correspondence - until they decided I wasn't a fit. Then I was ghosted for several days. The rest of the interview was highly time-consuming and quite unnecessary. They require you to build a 60-90 minute recorded presentation - WITHOUT the ability to pause or edit the recording. So, you better get it right the first time or you'll have to start from scratch again and again. That is simply unrealistic. Additionally, they require various forms of cognitive and IQ tests. And finally, a series of recorded answers to 17 questions. You cannot pause these either and hope to record good answers since you do not get any 2nd chances if you stumble. I somewhat understand the logic in all this... BUT, it should be done once you have it narrowed down to 1-2 candidates. To have this as part of the initial vetting process is a colossal waste of time. It takes several hours (more if you have to start over from scratch). I would much rather talk to a live person and be able to express my talents as well as personality instead of hoping a recording is good enough. If you want quality talent to put in that much time only to be turned down, you will never get the true talent you're looking for. Ask yourself if you would put up with the same tactics. Unless you were a serious finalist for the role, the answer would be no. Finally, i had a rushed 30-minute live video interview. He was in a hotel lobby with a poor internet connection and constantly distracted by passersby. It felt rushed disrespectful... almost like an obligation to him. It was then I felt that I was not being offered the role as there was just no interest shown in the discussion. Again, why waste my time??? And in the future, please conduct important interviews in a place with no distractions and a quality internet signal. Isn't that in the "Interview 101 Handbook" and something you would require a candidate to do? I was very sincerely interested in this role and quite disappointed that I was not selected. However, this review is not based upon sour grapes at all. But instead on the unnecessarily involved process required before becoming a finalist. I truly believe you do not get the best candidates this way.
