Candidatei-me online. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa GLSEN.
Entrevista
I hadn’t looked on Glassdoor when I originally applied, only after my interview was scheduled and canceled multiple times. Given the aims of the organization, I practiced patience and wanted to believe the claims that positive change was happening. Frankly, if it’s happening, it must be a very long-term project. I had two interviews, both pretty informal but with questions focused on the role, and both ending with confirmation of advancing to another. Then I was just ghosted, even after checking in with both people who interviewed me. Following up with people who put the time and effort into interviewing must be further out in the plan for change. Based on my experience and the others listed here, I’d look elsewhere.
Odd and then racist unfortunately.
The odd part was how disorganized and at cross purposes the process of setting up the interview was. It felt very unprofessional. The racist part I describe below.

A question about my race, which is of course against the law. Even worse, no one else in the small GLSEN group retracted the question or reacted in any way at all.

The interview process was a positive experience. It included three interviews with the initial meeting and interview with the Director of the department. The second interview was with an internal team from cross departments. The third interview was with the rest of the department I was joining.
The team members interviewing were aware of background and were well researched on my work experience, so the questions seemed thought out. The questions asked also allowed for conversations, which allowed for more personal connections. The team members I met and their openness and personal commitment to GLSEN's mission and was a deciding factor of accepting this position.
