Was contacted by an HR consultant to arrange interview. Was not informed in advance who I would be meeting with. In addition to HR contractor, 2 people were on the Zoom. 1 identified themselves as the current Exec Director, yet the website showed someone different, the other identified as Board Chair, though they were listed differently on website and 990's as well. The "current ED" monopolized the interview, which seemed odd and the Board Chair sat mostly silent. I was asked the standard ED questions (as found on line) and my responses were on point. The current ED breezed through the questions, then asked me if I had any, all in less than 30 minutes. By now it was apparent that they were just going through the motions and I was not under serious consideration. Their responses to my questions reflected a lack of understanding about nonprofit management and governance. It became clear to me why the organization is running in the red and struggling to keep programs and mission afloat, let alone poised for growth. I withdrew from consideration for the role.
