They hold you in a room until it is time for your interview. Then they take you to a gymnasium and you need to go to the table you were assigned. Three principals interview you at once. Each principal asks about four questions, neither of which is, "Do you have any questions?", which I did, but anyway. They never ask you to talk about yourself, I guess they do not care. Most of their questions were pretty irrelevant and I felt these principals looked like they did not even know what they were asking, as if it was the first time they were reading these questions (yes, they were reading them). Did they not prepare for the event? Then they tell you they are done and to go back to another holding room to wait for their decision. I talked a lot about the use of technology and unfortunately I am just reading a couple of reviews from someone that says GISD likes lectures not hands-on learning and another one that says their technology use is way behind other districts. Needless to say, I did not get an offer, but then again I am sure it is for the best since I not only use technology a lot, but these children need to grow up using it otherwise they will be lost in today's world and more so in tomorrow's. Garland Independent School District it is the year 2015. Overall not friendly, boxed, and robot-like.
