Interview for a fully remote job as a contractor. The position was for back end development with Spring Boot. They wanted me to purchase a laptop that they would repay every 3 months for a total period of 12 months.

Entrevista
The position was fully remote. The company does not have any presence in Greece so they were looking for a contractor. They wanted me to purchase a laptop and said they would redeem the cost in a period of 12 months. They would give me 25% of the total cost every 3 months. It was unclear to whom would the laptop belong if I left the company earlier than the 12 month period. Although the proposal was not very appealing mostly due to the high tax rates for contractors in Greece, I decided to take the interview. I was interviewed by a Senior Software engineer for about half an hour. The position was for a Junior Back-end position using Java Spring Boot so the questions were about Java, Spring, JPA and some basic SQL. After the interview they never contacted me again.

15 minute talk with HR and then 1 hour technical interview. The job was about a Java Spring position. Average difficulty questions about Java, Spring, JPA, SQL, Data Structures and Algorithms.
