I've applied to a few different positions over the past year. I have been interviewed for two different positions during that time. Both times I have made it through the phone screen and the first interview. The second position I was told "we would like you to come on site for a tour and interview". However, I never heard back and when I checked my job portal two months later, it showed that I was no longer under consideration for the role. The kicker is the role is still posted or was reposted. In both cases I didn't receive any sort of email correspondence, letting me know they had gone with another applicant (i.e. they didn't send a "rejection" email). I guess Georgia-Pacific sees no response as a response. Again, this happened twice where they just ghost me. Wouldn't doubt it if this is standard practice. Not reaching out to all applicants who applied is one thing, but once an interview is conducted and you talk to that person, please extend the courtesy of letting them know they didn't get the job, if you offer it to somebody else.
