Candidatei-me online. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa GitHub.
Entrevista
The recruiter was quick to get to the point - she briefly described the position, how many rounds of interviews would be required, and immediately jumped into discussions of compensation.
I thought that was a good idea - being on the same page would save us all time. I was shocked when Github's offered range was far below market (and significantly lower than my current job doing the same work). I asked the recruiter if it were possible to at least match my current compensation or whether its possible to use the payscale for different locale, and she categorically rejected my offer and shooed me away.
Github's inflexibility with matching market salaries in varying locales for remote employees is very worrying, since it would be impossible to retain decent talent with their policies.
