I showed up outside the door of the office, to see two other applicants waiting as well. I was assigned a 9:30am interview, so I showed up around 9am. I like to be early. There was also the 9:15 am interview in front of me. The manager and secretary did not show up until 9:28am, the manager carrying his suit as he was in a t-shirt and basketball shorts. We were allowed in as other interviewees filed in. They went straight to conference call, so we were left in the sitting until 9:45am Where he took the first interviewee. So at 9:48 it was my turn, the whole interview lasted about 3 minutes; I was asked 4 questions then invited for a second interview.
The second interview they talked about the roles and pay structure. So they hire "management trainee's" as the position, but that is the average starting position within the company. The list goes:
Account Manager - This is actually a salesman position
Lead Account Manager - This is a salesman group leader position, you are over 4-5 people
Assistant Manager - This is a salesman supervisor position, you are over about 10 people
Manager - this is a salesman group manager position, you are over 20-30 of people at the office.
The first 3 postions are all commission based, while the assistant manager is part salary. They wouldn't discuss any further up in the organization, said it was unecesary for a 40 minute interview slot that lasted 20 minutes. My second interview was by a lead account executive. He proceeded to explain inaccurate statistics regarding marketing, and inaccurate methods of advertising, which lead him to the point that all marketing must be done face to face in order to be effective. I was invited for a third interview, however I countered the offer, that I felt that i already had experience in salesman work, add into the fact that i had 2 bachelors in business subjects I was qualified to apply for the assistant manager position in their company directly. She hung up the phone on me.
