Massive group interview with all walks of life present. I got the feeling I could show up in jeans and polo and still get the job. Wasn't notified *at all* that it would be a lengthy process with a second group-interview immediately following. IMO, group interviews indicate high employee turnover and/or a scammy company. They might treat their customers well but also might treat their sellers like garbage, begging the need for mass-interviews. I've fallen for scam sales jobs before and they almost always have group interviews. If you have a pulse and appear to want the job, its yours. I advanced to the second phase after about 90 seconds, expressed that I didn't make room in my schedule for a long evening, and left for the parking lot where other applicants were questioning red flags. Look, if this is the kind of job you excel in, go for it--I'm not dissuading anyone from working for Globe Life. Despite my "scam instincts" activating, I could be very wrong about the role and *maybe* GL experienced explosive growth requiring urgent hiring. Considering that the front desk lady alluded to several other mass hiring events when I asked about rescheduling, I seriously doubt that I was wrong in trusting my instincts. I assume that this is a grunt-work doorknocking job with minimal training and demanding expectations; probably little to no targeted prospecting efforts in lieu of repititious cold calls to worn out leads. $20 says that any post-sale difficulties are the salesman's responsibility to clean up even if caused by back-end admins, ushered in by the traditional gaslighting of "its your money, you'll do what you need to get paid" despite being told to perform off-job-description duties. This might be a good learning experience for people wanting to get introduced to sales, but doesn't scream "professional role." The tougher the interview, the more rewarding the career. I rescheduled and was promised a callback. No such callback came. Calling people back is literally 100% of any sales position, even for managers and office staff.
