Basically a multi-level marketing scam. Their advertisement on Indeed didn't identify the employer's name directly, which was my first red flag - if they don't want you to Google them, watch close. They then sent me an email a few days later telling me the agency owner had reviewed my resume, but that he would like to talk to me in person to determine the best fit for me in the company.
I got there, and they had me fill out a bunch of paperwork to get contact information they should have already had so they could follow up later( a bad sign- if it were a real job, you'd be chasing them). I was then sent to a waiting room with several other applicants. Although I had directly applied during a shotgun job search, many of them had been cold-called from resumes posted online. Nobody had a great feeling about the whole thing at that point.
I was then taken into a one-on-one with a gentleman who was not the agency owner as I had been previously told. He glanced at my resume for less than three seconds, said "great, great" and that was the totality of us discussing my career or qualifications. He wouldn't answer questions about pay rate or job duties and informed me it was a three-part interview process, and if I made it to the third tier I would then meet the agency owner and be told about compensation and job duties.
The gentleman then informed me he had deigned to advance me to the second tier of the interview, which, you know, he really shouldn't at that point. My resume isn't great, and he hadn't read it or asked me any questions about my qualifications for the job.
The second part of the interview was a conference room where I was instructed to fill out a paper personality test consisting almost entirely of questions about personal goals, rather than work habits, personality traits or job qualifications. It turned out I was waiting for an hour-long presentation, which, as you know, isn't really all that typical in real job interviews.
Googling the parent company in the car(which I highly recommend) showed that this is a "sales" job for which they will hire any breathing human where you pay for your own training and promotional materials. It's basically Amway. Don't take my word for it: If you get an interview with them, ask them about pay rate and if they will pay for your onboarding/training like any legitimate company would.
