A very friendly HR called me for a first personal interview by phone, she was very kind, nice and professional and everything worked fine. Usual questions like: why did you choose us, tell us about your previous experiences and so on. After our call, she sent me a two logical tests, with mathematical questions and business cases. I completed both of them and sent back to her immediately. After around three days she told me that I passed the two logical tests and that I would have had a one-hour meeting with a manager of the company. This one was an experienced manager and we spent one hour with several business cases. I didn't find them difficult so everything worked fine and they invited me for the final step immediately. Here it happened something unexpected: I was interviewed by a guy with just one year of working experience (normally, the last person is the more experienced one). As always, we performed our interview on Hangouts but this time we had some problem and I waited 15 minutes before the conversation started. Therefore, since the interview was scheduled for 30 minutes, we only had 15 minutes left! So the interviewer went very fast on all the questions and made a very poor business case. The business case was very badly structured and explained (a business case should aim to understand the logical and analytical skills of the candidate, not his/her ability to understand what's in the mind of the interviewer). Well, in the end, after this 15-minutes interview, the guy assessed that my analytical skills were not enough for the mentioned position. So let's resume: two logical tests worked well, I passed an interview of one hour with a manager with long experience, who presented several business cases to me and, in the end, a guy with very little experience decided, in 15 minutes that my analytical skills were not enough. Every company decides its own way to select people but in my opinion interviewers need to have experience. Even if they are good on their job they have to know how to lead an interview and how to prepare a business case. This point raises many doubts on the seriousness of the company and the level of professionalism in their organization.
