I was contacted due to their receiving my CV from Totaljobs, and did not particular reach out to this firm for an opportunity. That being said, the 'interview' takes the form of a 2-part process. On Day 1, you are invited as part of a scatter-shot approach to meet in person and they discuss the company and progression opportunities - and not necessarily one that suits your career profile. However, in this approach, everyone starts from the bottom. Once you are short-listed, you are invited to Day 2, which is called an interview as well as an open day. What is not indicated - in email or in person - is that you are taken around on the field with their Sales Representatives while they go to achieve sales in a bid for you to observe what takes place. This fieldwork can take place anywhere around Birmingham. Day 2 is supposedly split into three segments:
Segment 1: The Sales Representative takes the time to know you while haphazardly walking or commuting on the bus, while asking you questions about potential marketing strategies, means of communication and telling you to write notes about the Company's portfolio. You are also asked to write any questions down that you may have - with the warning that any questions that seem 'entry-level' will not earn you a recommendation to be hired. You then observe for a few hours while this Sales Representative(s) approach real clients.
Segment 2: You are advised of the business model and how you can grow. This can take place after 3-5 hours of you already being there and standing on the sidelines.
Segment 3: You are short-listed for a last interview with Ben/ Jake where you fill out a questionnaire, once the Sales Representative on the field believes that you are cut out for the job.
The entire process takes the entirety of Day 2, with an advised period of 11:00 am to 8:30 pm.
That being said, the wording of everything is quite vague. The roles are commission-based and do not have a job description that is sent to the candidate for any preparation.
