I applied for a HR Director position and was contacted within about a month. Had the first interview by phone that went very well. The recruiter was very personable. She asked standard questions. Was contacted within a week for a second interview with the Chief People Officer. I sent a thank you message after the interview and after about 2 weeks I sent a follow up email and asked if I was still being considered for the role. I never heard back from anyone, not even to notify me that they chose another candidate. As an HR professional with many years of experience, I will tell you that this is not the best practice.

They reached out to me. I interviewed by a recruiter. Good process in first round, then crickets....HR is a busy place and sometimes we get backlogged, but I make sure personally to let applicants know their status. Professional courtesy.
