Unlike some traditional Interviews in the UK, the final interview at the Office was really engaging and different. The head of the department had a 20-minute chat about my resume and current professional skills related to the role. Then, two different datasets were given in Excel format. A question paper with four different sections is given, which is to be solved using the given dataset. The first section was SQL. The second section was Python EDA, the third section was Excel, and the final section was PowerBI.

Given two different Excel sheet datasets, create a new dataset by performing EDA operations utilizing Python and SQL. PowerBI can be used and you can rely on any AI assistants to achieve the result.

I was invited to an hour long online test to assess attention to detail and analysis skills. After passing I got a brief online interview followed by a job offer. Very quick.

So i was going in assuming that it was gonna be an interview with some tests but it turned out to hardly an interview and just some arbitrary tests. I arrived at the building and waited in the ground floor where i saw 3 others. I was due at 10 but someone finally came down at around 5 past. I then realised all 4 of us were being interviewed albeit for different positions. They sat us down and got us to introduce ourselves a bit. They then talked about the company and how it was such a great place to work, proper bigging it up like (i'm talking staff trips to New York and dinners out etc.).
So after that they gave us all a logical reasoning test and we had 20 minutes to complete it. These covered various numerical and logical tests which i've put below. This totally caught me off guard because i've not seen this kind of thing since i was in school but they weren't too difficult. After that, I did a personality quiz. It was on a free website that supposedly tells you your Myers-Briggs personality type. For those that don't know, this is pop psychology and has been widely disputed academically. It's a fun test to do but it's really not a valid tool for creating psychological profiles let alone for employing people. I asked one of the interviewers about this, how it doesn't really make sense to make a binary out of "thinking with your head/thinking with your heart" but they didn't really engage with me or understand.
After that I had to do a task that was actually a bit more relevant to the role which was a welcome challenge. I had to find e-mail contacts and search some databases. They gave instructions for this and while I followed them, it didn't always get the correct answer. There's also an online tool for searching email addresses that only gives you a few free go's. If this was supposed to replicate a real working environment, surely they would have access to this service and thereby making this task much easier.
After that I left, a bit bewildered. The people there were friendly and nice but their interview tasks feel like they were set by someone who has a very basic understanding of psychology. It was quite frustrating because i felt i was reduced to a bunch of test scores and not seen for the potential and experiences i had. I didn't even get the opportunity to ask questions or let them get to know me. I'd be weary of applying here especially considering all the law suit issues around underpayment (google the company sis)....
