It started with a phone call to discuss the role. I then had my first interview with two managers which went very well. The second interview was quick - almost as if they were trying to get it over with . I interviewed with two different female managers. I believe they already had someone in mind before interviewing me. One of the ladies clearly had zero interest in talking to me. She had a monotone voice and did not smile. Despite not talking for very long, she cut me off during my answers a couple times to say “great, next question.” At the end of the interview, I asked what she is looking for in a candidate. She basically said she is looking for someone that can work independently and doesn’t need motivation or encouragement from supervisors. While I can understand where she was coming from, this put a bad taste in my mouth and made me feel like she was a poor leader that didn’t care. Following that interview, I sent a well-written thank you email (no response). The next day, I was honestly relieved to receive my letter from HR that they were moving forward with other candidates. From what I gathered, their work culture may need improvement.
