I had an introductory with the department manager which was pleasant. However, the next interview was with a psychologist (over the phone) which kind of shook me up. I'm a more introverted person and interviewing with a psychologist who knows how the brain works makes me even more nervous. I'm bad enough at interviews and this didn't help. The phycologist asked fairly standard questions but was often without context and shortly phrased like "are you decisive?" I paused thinking I heard divisive, then realized he said decisive and then jammed up because it was now ironic to answer the question as yes. Another question was phrased like "would you prefer high-stress or low-stress work environment?" or something to that effect. Me being honest said low-stress (because who would rather be more stressed?) and I'm sure it deemed me unable to handle stress. I was told they had concerns about my ability to handle stress. I know that I can because my senior designer peers told me that I'm an excellent designer and that the company that we worked at was the most stressful one they've worked at. One of my peers even worked at GNC. I have heard that GNC has out-of-the-ordinary interview process, but I feel like I would have had a better chance with a normal in-person interview. I was deemed a non-cultural fit and when I asked if that should prevent me from applying in the future, I was told no. I was a bit confused afterward. I truly was excited about the company but that experience put a damper on it.
