Applied via the company website and received a call from the recruiter the next day asking general questions about my experience in relation to the role. Asked how much I was earning at my current job which I find extremely unprofessional. All companies have a budget for the role being advertised and should communicate this clearly to the applicant to find out if it aligns with their expectations. Was then sent an email to respond to if I wanted my application to be forwarded to the hiring manager. I responded in affirmative. Never ever heard back from the recruiter or the hiring manager. I was ghosted.

The recruiter for the company downloaded my resume from SEEK Australia and contacted me a few hours later to see if I was interested in the opportunity. I emailed them back to confirm that I am and they emailed me the next day to arrange an interview. I immediately began to move around my prior work commitments so I could attend the interview. Exactly 8 minutes after confirming the date, time and location for the interview, they sent me an email cancelling the interview completely. I rang the recruiter to enquire what was going on but received no answer. A short time later, I received an email from them confirming the cancellation of the interview with the excuse that the position had been already filled and that it was confusion between the department as to the status of the position. I emailed back letting the company know that their conduct was highly unprofessional and that I lost time and money because of their behaviour. I also let them know that I would be giving them a terrible review on all recruitment sites so that no one else would ever get treated the same.
