Interview went really well, within a day I’d been told I had got the job, within a few days my basic DBS had been cleared and I’d been given a start date, one of the people I’d asked for a reference was away the week they’d been asked so therefore couldn’t do it until the weekend, by the time the weekend had come along I was being told that they were cancelling my job due to one of the people not giving a reference, there was no communication to myself to ask for another reference or to ask when they were getting it, I emailed and called them to find out what was going on, they sent me an email to say that a manager would be getting back to me, after almost a week no one has got back to me, this company is poor at communication and responding to emails. I originally applied for different jobs around the same time so when I got this one I spent the following week turning away other work and offer of a training course etc due to thinking I had this job. I’ve recently discussed this with someone I know that works there and they said don’t expect anything back, and they are known to mess around with the staff, now I’m looking at it as a blessing that I’ve avoided working for this company, not even an apology.
