I became aware of Greenhouse when applying to other companies. Without fail, those companies using their software handled the whole process so much better than others. so when this opportunity came across my radar, it was a no-brainer. The recruiting team (Jenna and Cat) absolutely lived up to expectations and did a fantastic job of coordinating around my schedule and making sure I was prepared. By chance, my manager was visiting a company nearby and working with her EA, the set up an in-person nearby. In parallel with that, I recieved a business case and follow-up questions to be completed in 48 hours. Next came a couple of Zoom calls with other remote employees. after that I was meant to come down to HQ for a day of in-person interviews. However, it a pending holiday weekend, it would have been a couple of weeks before that would have worked out. Instead, we did more Zoom calls. After sending out my thank-you emails, I began hearing back from those recipients, which is rare IME. And they were not just acknowledgements, but continuations of the topics raised during the interview.

Spoke to the recruiter and then got to the next round, which involved a phone interview with the hiring manager. The next step after that was completing a take home assignment. This assignment was atypically long and required heavy research, unlike most early-stage assignments during the interview process which are usually blog posts. After taking 3 days to complete the assignment, which became a 20 slide deck, covering all of the questions in depth with a ton of research, I learned 4 days later that they wouldn't be moving forward. The email did not provide any insight into why, and what I found more disturbing is not inviting me in to at least meet the hiring team in person and walk through my presentation. After all of this time and energy I put into the assignment, they couldn't have the decency to at least meet me. It definitely felt like a waste of time and I wouldn't be inclined to interview here again.
