I received an offer from GyanMatrix and it was active for a week after which it was cancelled. And I can’t express in words about how stressful a week that was. 1. Day 1, HR reached out to me, informed me about the opportunity, and asked me if I can join in 30 days. My project was ending and I didn’t know at that time that my company had scrapped the policy of early reliever, so I said yes, but with the caveat that I’d need to talk to my manager and HR rep to get confirmation on that. 2. Technical round was scheduled and I attended it, in which I was asked automation testing related questions which I didn’t answer all too well, the tech interviewer straightaway told me that he cannot proceed with my profile as I was not sound technically. But he gave glowing review about my communication skills, which he apparently passed on to the HR as well, which I heard later. 3. I didn’t expect it to happen but HR arranged a 2nd round of technical interview in which only leadership questions were asked, I cracked it. 4. Client interview and HR round followed and my offer was released on a Friday. I resigned from company on the same day and my nightmares started from the same day. 5. HR kept asking me if I would be able to able to join in 30 days, but for genuine reasons I was not able to reach out to my manager at that time cos she had some personal issues and was in and out of work. 6. After releasing the offer, GyanMatrix HR, told me to remove my profile from Naukri and all other job boards, and I refused because I didn’t know if HRs could ask a candidate to do that. After I refused to do that, from Monday, I started receiving calls from random people reaching out to me with a job opportunity. One guy literally drilled me for 10 minutes asking why I was looking for another opportunity and had my profile active when I already had an offer. Without fail, exactly 5-10 minutes after each such call, I’d receive a call from GyanMatrix HR asking me if I have any issues in joining there. 7. I just wanted this whole episode to end, so in the next 2 days, after confirming with my manager that early reliever policy was scrapped in my company, I called up that HR and told her to pursue other candidates as I’d not be able to join in 30 days. She politely said she understood my situation, but they have client pressure to fulfil that position soon so she’ll cancel the offer she sent me. I said okay. 8. The offer cancellation mail that I got still irks me. They said that I had committed a huge fraud by promising them something and not keeping it, and that I’ll not be considered for any further recruitment there. I rang up the HR and asked her why I was sent such an email when all the process happened amicably. She responded that it is standard protocol for offer cancellations in GyanMatrix. I gave her an earful and hung up the call, thus concluding a nightmarish 3-5 days of my life. 9. Now that I had already resigned, but I didn’t have any offer, so I felt like revoking my resignation to stay back, but I held on, attended a bunch of other interviews, cleared 80% of them, and now I work in one of the biggest and oldest tech giants in the world.
