H-E-B’s cashier interview is quick and friendly: apply online, take a short assessment, do a simple in-person interview about customer service, then get a conditional offer, background check, and orientation. Usually takes about a week.

How would you handle a customer who is upset or frustrated?
It was an online format. Personal video recording responding to basic interview prompts. There was also a small competency examination to test for basic math and reading skills as well as some personality questions.

The interview process was pretty straightforward, I got in on a staffing agency that was hiring to fill positions for a new store opening. I had a group interview, then a one on one interview and was offered a position.
