Applied online, got a call from the H‑E‑B and they asked me a couple questions and set up a group interview. They had us talk about what position we were applying for and had us get into groups and make a “mock commercial” and then asked us questions at the end. They also had crayons for us to write with which was a little weird but kind of lightened the mood. After the group they set us up with individual interviews and I was offered the position on the spot at my individual interview.

Virtual interview comes first, most likely a screening interview!
The in-person interview is where they gauge your customer service attitude and ask about your availability. It is a relaxing, low-pressure interview process that still ensures the right people are hired.

How would you respond if a customer couldn't find an item on your shelf, and you noticed you were out of stock?
Three stages of interviews. One is through the phone. Second is with the department manager. Third is with the General Manager. They will call you back after each stage if you pass it.
