Attended info session and applied online. Scheduled an interview shortly after. Initial interview went well, took assessment and scored 85%. Second interview and was told I would be offered a position and should expect an offer letter by end of July. Was asked by hiring manager to also apply for a direct-hire job, given my resume. One week later, receive rejection letter. Asked why. Never given an explanation. Was cc'd in an email, I believe by mistake, having a manager explain to other HCL employee I had graduated too far in the past to qualify for the direct-hire position. Nothing was ever explained as to why I was told I was accepted, then received a rejection letter. Age-ism.
