I received direct call from HCL saying your resume is shortlisted for the interview and you will receive call next day however I didn't receive call that day. After follow up with HR, he checked with concerned person and said will receive a call tomorrow and that time they were bang on time. Interview was for about 45 minutes and all went well, I was optimistic that I have cleared the round as I answered all the queries. Even after a week when I didn't receive any feedback then I checked with HR. HR was also not sure about the result so manager didn't bother to update HR on my interview status. After another one week follow up with HR, he came back to me saying I am not selected. When I queried about the reason, he said even he is not sure what manager is looking in candidate. I told them that they knew my total work experience and all required details than why they are giving this excuse. As per me its pure mismanagement and wrong communication. Seems like hiring manager was just doing time pass and some other candidate was already selected from his circle, just to show that he was doing interview, he called me.
