      Entrevista

Like most others have mentioned, you have to take a silly 8th grade algebra test before being able to submit your resume. Annoying but not very difficult. My initial calls and email communications with HR were OK. I had a brief call with their recruiter who then set up an onsite interview. My first onsite interview started ok but ended very strange. I started with having to take the test again (an easier shorter version of the online quiz... I would say a 6th grade math test). No one told me how long I would be there or who I would be meeting with. I began by interviewing with the head of development and then marketing. Both of these gentleman asked good questions and seemed to be prepared for the interview. None of the questions were particularly challenging. I then interviewed with the owner's wife who heads up HR. She was friendly but didn't really ask anything relevant to the position. We spent most of our time discussing the fitness programs they have (which I liked). I was then set to speak to the owner. He wasn't ready for me so the HR manager gave me a tour of the facilities. The office is nice. They are big on fitness and have a comfortable work environment. I then spoke with the owner. This is where things got weird. My time with him was rushed and he spent most of the interview asking me about the financials of a company I haven't worked at in 8 years. The software company I used to work for was sold and it seemed like he wanted to compare HCSS's financials. The line or questioning was strange and highly irrelevant to the position I was applying for. The interviewed last 10-15 minutes and ended abruptly. It left with a very weird taste in my mouth after almost 3 hours of being in their office. The position I applied for reports to the owner and I didn't get a good vibe from him. The HR manager called me back the next day and asked to set up a follow up interview. I asked her who I was interviewing with and she stated that the owner and some others wanted to talk to me again because our conversations were rushed. I was reluctant to return but went ahead and set up another interview for 2 weeks later. My second interview was an even more frustrating experience than the first. I met with the head of development again. I didn't feel that our first interview was rushed but he wanted to speak with me again. He was friendly and the interview seemed to go well. I then spoke with the COO. I didn't speak to him in my first visit. Our conversion was pleasant but he was literally reading my resume for the first time when I stepped into his office. At times, I would respond to one of his questions and he would be looking at his computer (I assuming looking at his emails). He even held up and read a document at some point. He seemed to be a nice guy but completely disinterested in the interview. I was then supposed to meet the owner again. I was informed that he was not even in the office. I again walked away with a bad taste in my mouth. A couple days later, I received a form letter in the mail saying that I wasn't getting an offer for the position. I would have expected the courtesy of a phone call with feedback considering the amount of time I spent in this process. My overall impression is that the company seems like a nice place to work. I read some negative reviews about the management and owner in particular and those descriptions seemed to be pretty accurate. My overall experience with the interview process was negative.

      Pergunta 1

The owner asked me how many employees one my previous employers had when it was acquired by another software company. He also asked about the company financials (yearly sales, profitability) when sold. This caught me off guard.
