Applied online through my campus recruiting site, then was called after about 2 weeks for a phone interview. The phone interview lasted 25 minutes, simply asking my about my background and why I wanted to work for HNI. I was offered a second round interview immediately, and went to their Allsteel plant in Muscatine the next week. There were about 20 other candidates there applying for either the development program or an internship. They gave us a tour of their facility and went over HNI’s strategy and values before the interview which was calming. There were 3 separate interviews with 3 different hiring members all in a giant room with other candidates talking simultaneously. The interviews were in sections: education, work experience, and culture. There wasn’t a lot of behavioral based questions which was nice, just a lot of simple back and forth talking. Afterwards, I got a call about a week later with an offer!
