First round phone interview includes standard questions. Please be prepared to talk in detail about the news and how it will impact HSBC. I think they look for your analysis and your own opinion rather than depth of the news.

"Why did you choose the news?". I was more prepared to answer further in-depth question, so I was rather surprised. However, it probably will be good if you can link it to the wider industry and the importance of the news to HSBC.

the online assessment is not timed, well rounded, mostly organisational fit questions ( rank a certain number of actions from most likely to do to least likely) , similar questions' format to the hub's practice they give .
