The process was a long 6-step process: 1. Application 2. Further Questionnaire about why you want to live in Hokkaido 3. First interview(job related behavioral questions) 4. An Aptitude/Personality Assessment test 5. Second Interview 6. Final Interview After getting to Step 4, I was given the test. I quickly saw the test was a 60 min/40 ?s Aptitude and 50 min/60-80 ?s Personality test(give or take a few). While the Personality part was routine, the Aptitude part asked long word mathematical questions that are difficult to finish within the time constraint. What was most strange is that in my years and years of experience, I have never used such math problems in a real world situation. It's completely irrelevant to the job or Hospitality industry. I've interviewed with Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton and Intercontinental and not once have they ask this type of cognitive ability test. I flat out told the HR dept. I was not going to do it as it was not relevant to the job. I was then referred to the HR manager who asked me 2 more times to finish it for the application. At that point I politely said I withdraw my application. I then looked up further reviews from current/former employees on here, Glassdoor, and I can say I'm happy I withdrew my application.
