I had one virtual interview with the founder's personal assistant. She asked about my background and why I wanted to work for HalfPenny London. She told me they were looking for someone in sales and that I could learn the bridal industry, so she sent our recorded interview to senior leadership for approval into the next round. I heard back the following week saying I did not make it to round 2 because they wanted someone with more retail experience. I was definitely confused when I heard this, considering the PA told me they were looking for someone with a sales background (which I have 7 years of in digital marketing). It didn't seem like senior leadership and those conducting interviews were on the same page as to who would be a great fit for the position.
