About two weeks after I had submitted my application for a Controller position, I was invited to a job interview. The position was not with Hays, but with another company in Frankfurt. Hays was merely the intermediary. The interview took place at the Hays office in Frankfurt. It was very professional. The questions I was asked were very basic. No brain teasers. The interviewer was following a kind of standardized checklist, writing down all the answers I gave. At the end of the interview, I was immediately told that I was in their opinion suitable for the position and that they would check with the client.
About two weeks later I received an offer. Unfortunately, the compensation was below industry average, so I declined.
