Candidatei-me por indicação de um funcionário. O processo levou 4 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela Heap (San Francisco, CA) em fev. de 2021
Entrevista
The interview process was very refreshing and I really liked it. All the interviews were conducted over Zoom. I had 4 tech rounds.
1. The first round asked me to code up a simplified version of the backend API that powers the UI for one of the pages at the company.
2. The second round was about me sharing my knowledge about a backend technology that I understand in-depth and then they asked me questions to test my understanding.
3. 3rd round was a system design question about solving a problem that Heap has faced.
4. The last round was about discussing the architecture of the backend platform at Heap. I was being tested on the quality of the questions that I asked.
Apart from this, there was also a 30min call with the CEO which was the values interview.
Everyone in the process was really engaged and nice to talk to and the interviews tested my knowledge of distributed systems, backend engineering instead of testing how many LC problems I have solved.

Started with a phone screen with an Engineering Manager. Followed by a 1 hour technical interview. The final interviews took place as a virtual onsite (split over 2 days for me).

The technical interview was an algorithm problem to determine how quickly a person could type a given passcode on a 4x4 keypad.
Heap has a particularly unique interview they call the values interview. During that interview, they ask you to describe a project that went well and one that didn't go well. The purpose of the interview is to evaluate how a candidate aligns with Heaps culture.

Connected on Triplebyte, had a non-technical phone conversation, went right to onsite. Onsite was an all-day work sample on a problem they specified, with regular checkins. Team was sharp, communicated very clearly, asked hard questions. Everyone was friendly and I felt welcomed, wasn't stuck in a conference room all day, ate lunch with the team.

Webapp backend leaning heavily on Redis. Don't want to give details on the problem.
