They essentially ghosted. I submitted my application online and also via email. I got a video interview with a manager, who at the end of the call stated that I would receive a design test (unpaid) the next day. Surprise surprise, got nothing the next day so I followed up and...no response. One week later I get an email saying they had a personal matter come up...which happens, it's fine but no Out of Office message, or an assistant to reroute emails? I receive the (unpaid) design test, which was just the written assignment--no materials, templates, images, fonts nothing. I try to work on it for a couple days but I really need the materials to make anything, so I email asking for images and fonts, but in the meantime start working on ideas. Two days later I get one font file and they ask what images I want...at that point I'd already scrapped together images online and figured it out. I submit my (unpaid) test which took me many hours across several days. They respond that they will get back to me the next day...and you guessed it, that was the last I ever heard from them, there was no response the next day. I followed up a week later, and nothing. I was very interested, exactly the kind job I've been looking for, and a role like this rarely comes up so I was eager. I followed up with HR about a month later, and someone I'd never interacted with responds saying they filled the role. I asked to get feedback about my application and they declined stating they weren't in the hiring process. Basically they were unresponsive, passed off applicant communications to someone random and refused to even give one note of feedback on the (unpaid) design test that took hours to complete for their own application process.
