A recruiter contacted me for a senior role on LinkedIn. She did setup a call, and explained two open positions relevant to my profile. We decided to go ahead with Platform Engineers team.
They will send you an assignment that should be completed within 4-8 hours. I felt it to be more than a day work; If you know everything asked in the assignment and best practices around it, then you can probably finish it earlier. I took 3-4 days to read and implement the solution. They liked my approach, gave me detailed feedback, and called me for the next round.
Next round was with two senior engineers. They grilled me over Docker, CICD, Observability, Kubernetes. I was very confident around observability, CICD and showed them some of my past work as well. Kubernetes, Docker part didn’t go as expected but I gave them answers based on my understanding; Still, It was a 50-50 chance.
I got a rejection email a few day later. Recruiter explained me the part that went well, and things that they were expecting me to be better at. It was a detailed email and recruiter was also ready to get on a call and explain me what didn’t go as expected.
Overall, it was a positive experience.

I had three technical interviews including a system design interview and a software engineering basic DSA, and an executive interview. Questions were mainly about Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD and Monitoring. The DSA problem included solving a simple DSA problem and talking through the solution explaining about time complexity of it.

Discriminative rude Senior Tech Recruiting Manager
During the first round, right from the beginning. I had an interview with the Senior Tech Recruiting Manager for the senior platform engineer position. She was not normal at all, she was using a mocking tone while talking to me. She barely asked questions in a comprehensible way, so I can answer her precisely.
She was gazing at me disrespectfully with weird side eye looks and kept moving a lot like she wanted to get done with the interview as soon as possible.
How Hello Fresh is putting people like this at the face of the interview process ? I just rejected the rest of the interview steps.

Entrevista
The Recruiter is very nice. We had a friendly talk about company culture and benefit. The company benefit is quit good. The next round is Take Home Challenge. I was given a pure API development task with DB and it is more focused on Programming/ BE Develop even the JD is k8s/docker/aws/ci/cd/terraform/ansible etc. It seems they are recruiting Developer not DevOps/Platform Engineer. Or the position requires solid BE knowledge.
